Naomi + Evan’s colorful summer wedding at warrenwood manor
There are some couples you meet and immediately think, these two are completely obsessed with each other. That was Naomi and Evan. Before their wedding day, I had the chance to photograph their engagement session at Warrenwood Manor in Danville, Kentucky. Since the venue allows couples to use the property for engagement photos, we got to spend time together exploring the grounds, and right away it was so obvious how much these two loved being together. They were playful, affectionate, and completely comfortable with each other, which made their engagement session so much fun to photograph.
It also made perfect sense why they fell in love with Warrenwood Manor. With its historic home and rolling Kentucky hills, the property has such a timeless feeling. It feels like Kentucky in the best possible way. Naomi and Evan loved the history and beauty of the venue, but more than anything, they wanted their wedding day to feel meaningful. Their faith and the people they share it with were at the heart of their celebration.
Their wedding day started with rain, which meant putting their original outdoor ceremony plans aside and moving everything into the barn. But what could have felt like a disappointment ended up creating one of the sweetest moments of the day. The ceremony in the barn felt intimate and intentional, with their closest family and friends gathered around them as they promised their lives to one another. And honestly, it was beautiful. Sometimes the unexpected changes end up making a wedding day even more special.
One of the things I loved most about Naomi and Evan's wedding was how intentionally they incorporated their faith into the day. They shared private vows with each other and also included a foot washing ceremony, creating a beautiful picture of humility, service, and commitment. These weren't just traditions added to their wedding—they represented the kind of marriage they want to build together and the promises they were making to each other.
Thankfully, the rain eventually cleared, giving us the chance to head back outside and enjoy the Warrenwood Manor grounds. We spent time photographing them around the historic home and in the rolling hills that they loved so much. The Kentucky landscape, the old home, and the quiet moments between the two of them made their portraits feel completely timeless.
As a Kentucky wedding photographer, these are the days I love documenting most. Days that aren't just beautiful, but full of meaning. Naomi and Evan's Warrenwood Manor wedding had rain, a change of plans, an intimate barn ceremony, private vows, a foot washing ceremony, and so much joy. But more than anything, it was a celebration of their faith, their love, and the people who mean the most to them.
For couples dreaming of a Warrenwood Manor wedding or searching for a Lexington wedding photographer or Kentucky wedding photographer, Naomi and Evan's day is such a beautiful reminder that the best wedding days aren't necessarily the ones that go perfectly according to plan. They're the ones that feel like you.
